Solutions

Integrated Data Storage, LLC™ provides a number of solutions to meet business IT challenges. While the list below highlights some of the more general solution concepts, in order for any solution to be impactful to the business it must integrate into the other solutions in the data center. Integrated Data Storage, LLC™ takes great pride in the holistic view of infrastructure technology applied to each customer.

Managed Services

Managed Support

Many businesses have a dedicated team of IT personnel, but lack the necessary bandwidth or deep subject matter expertise to support all their IT initiatives. To overcome that challenge, IDS delivers Managed Support, providing expert engineers who perform systems monitoring and management, both remotely and onsite. We work with customers to create an appropriate schedule of ongoing support, health checks, and reporting on their environment to ensure optimum functionality and setup, as well as addressing issues as they arise. Our model is flexible to allow your team to be as involved or as hands-off as you desire.

Infrastructure as a Service

Many companies don’t benefit from building costly IT infrastructures, but have to do it out of necessity to support mission-critical applications. For businesses who want to simply focus on the management of their business critical applications and be freed from building, managing, and refreshing the infrastructure behind those applications, IDS provides Infrastructure as a Service offerings. Whether that is simply hosting equipment that you already own in our Data Center and managing it, or leveraging the Enterprise-class infrastructure that IDS has already built, we can offer ways to drive unnecessary infrastructure costs out of your business.

Deduplication

Have you ever considered how many copies of a given file or email are stored somewhere among your server infrastructure? How many copies of your company logo are embedded on emails, documents and presentations? Deduplication is a technology taking the storage industry by storm.

  • What solution do you go with?
  • What are your recovery point and recovery time objectives (RPO and RTO)?
  • Do you employ multiple solutions?
  • How does virtualization fit in?
  • How do you guard against phantom failure conditions?
  • How do you write a DR run book for a server?

Leveraging the power of deduplication, these redundant elements are discovered and indexed so that they only need to be stored a single time. Frequently this results in a many-fold decrease in the amount of storage needed in the data center. When applied to backups, a backup to disk target can hold months rather than days. Even deduplication to tape is now available. Integrated Data Storage, LLC™ leverages many types of deduplication to ensure that the right technology is applied in the correct manner to ensure the best results.

Disaster Recovery

The ultimate reason for backups is the need to perform recoveries, and Disaster Recovery (DR) can be the most challenging of all recoveries. There are several DR scenarios: failure of a single server, failure of a whole rack of equipment and failure of an entire site are some typical examples. Contrary to popular belief, most DR situations occur not due to massively catastrophic events. A simple AC leak is enough to cause tremendous damage.

Integrated Data Storage, LLC™ can take you through the strengths and weaknesses of various DR strategies and help craft a solution applicable to your business resumption needs.

Information Storage

Gone are the days of million dollar fibre channel-only entry level storage area networks (SANs). With the advent and meteoric rise of iSCSI storage networks, immense reliability, performance, and scalability are available to even the smallest businesses. Integrated Data Storage, LLC™ will work with you to find which, or even if, a storage array is right for your business, design it to meet both business and technical goals, and then implement it with precision.

Information Backup

Perhaps one of the most challenging tasks any IT team takes on, backup has more tools and options to meet goals than ever. Backup to disk is not necessarily faster than backup to tape. New software technologies often fix backup issues without any hardware changes at all. Is deduplication right for you? What about archiving? What is everyone else doing with retention? Is data replication even an option? Why backup at all? Find out what one meeting with a backup subject matter expert can do for your plan.

Virtualization

Integrated Data Storage’s Virtualization Practice provides a total, integrated approach in managing the complexity of server, storage, and desktop virtualization initiatives–from assessment, design, and implementation to comprehensive documentation. Integrated Data Storage provides experienced technological insight, lowers implementation risk and expense and dramatically improves ROI time frame.

Server Consolidation, A Customer Story
Problem: “We needed more servers and we couldn’t expand, power wise, room wise, temperature wise—we just couldn’t go any further.”
Solution: IDS virtualized their physical servers with VMware, delivering better performance and reduced utility costs.

Security

Comprehensive security strategies protect sensitive data over a life span that includes usage, rest and motion. There are many different ways information and information systems can be threatened by both external attackers as well as trusted insiders. Applying commensurate protection in depth is important, unless you’ve got nothing to lose or money to burn.

Our ability to protect the availability of your critical data via backup and storage infrastructure represents only one facet of our value proposition: Integrated Data Storage is also a leading provider of controls that preserve data confidentiality and integrity. We regularly engineer and implement solutions comprised of both detective and preventative components dovetailed to safeguard information in accordance with organizational goals.

Enabling efficiency within processes that support compliance responsibilities is an equally large part of the IDS Security focus. Whether SOX, PCI, HIPAA or ITAR, we’ve helped organizations maintain compliance while reducing the burden of manual administrative processes. Besides saving money, many of our clients have even improved defense mechanisms that might otherwise have existed only to satisfy the letter of the law.

Networking

It all starts with the network. The network connects users, servers and resources together to provide the required application services. New datacenter initiatives like Virtualization, Unified Compute, and Data Center Ethernet are all enabled by the network.

Integrated Data Storage’s goal is to provide the correct networking solution based on you current and future needs. Whether it’s IO consolidation, Virtualization, or a network upgrade, IDS has the engineers to make it happen.
